1. Anyone living in the Helsby area is welcome to enter the scarecrow competition. 2. This year’s theme is Kings and Queens. 3. To participate, entrants must submit a completed registration form and have their scarecrows on display by the required time. 4. By submitting your details, you agree to your address being publicised on the Scarecrow Trail Map. 5. You can use any materials you like to build your scarecrow, there are no restrictions. However, Scarecrows must be durable and able to stand up to sun, wind and rain showers. Use care in choosing your materials. All decorations must be firmly attached to your scarecrow. 6. All scarecrows must be built from scratch by the entrant with a minimum height of 1 metre. 7. All entries must be family friendly and displayed in good taste. Any entrant designing their scarecrow to cause deliberate offence will be automatically disqualified and their details removed from the trail map. 8. All scarecrows must be displayed at the front of your property and should be positioned so that it is unnecessary for anyone to access your property in order to view them. They must be secured in a manner that they will not blow away or be a danger to people or property. Owners are held solely responsible for the safety and security of their scarecrow(s). 9. Only scarecrows registered in time will be entered on the map and therefore considered for voting purposes. 10. The scarecrow with the highest number of votes registered through the official Ho Ho Scarecrow channels will be announced the winner. 11. In registering your scarecrow, you confirm that you accept these rules. Any non-registered scarecrows are not considered to be part of the Ho Ho Scarecrow Trail and will not be recognised as such. 12. Disclaimer of liability : The Ho Ho Helsby committee are not responsible for any damage caused to the property of Participants or third parties in this event. Participation is at the property owner’s risk, and at the risk of individuals at all times.
